This song could be a nice commercial background track.
May be a pet shop one? :) I guess a cell phone company from my country would do since they use to get deep sounding songs to involving people.
Unfortunately I had to remove this song. Not because of copyrights but because it simply won't play correctly. I am sure you will find it anywhere. The song is: Rent a cat from Norman Palm.
Did Bill Corgan switched from Smashing Pumpkins to The Rural Alberta Advantage or is it just my impression?
Well I don't think so but the voice reminds me Corgan. Great song this Frank AB.
Here it is. Finally the new single from the new album You & Me. The release album date will be August, 9. I always love two or three songs from The Walkmen albums. The others are ok. Two of them are "The rat" and "Another one goes by". This "In the New Year" single is full of dramatic flair and the vocal is as usual a Indie Rod Stewart style. Since I eard The Walkmen for the first time I always imagined Rod Stewart singing Indie and he would sound like Hamilton Leithauser. Can't wait for the "You & Me".
No I am not on a strike neither a fight. I was just parsing my old music and "faced" this Democracy from Killing Joke. I ever took Killing Joke into consideration since I saw their great concert in my home town along with my favourite band ever - Pixies. That was a remarkable concert I will never forget. How could one forget such a power energy from both bands, specially from Killing Joke. And their killing more than ever in the moment this world is living in. There are facts. I am not struggling against nothing except perhaps against myself and the climate change. But this joke that kills as been warning us for sometime. Take a look into their Europe lyrics from Europe album in 1996. Is or not true? Is it good or bad? Well you may judge. Take a listen to if you want. Remember: always better with good quality headphones!
You have a choice, we are your voice
Red, blue or yellow.
We will blow away the green
Another five lane motorway
(You'll never get a referendum anyway)
Funny handshakes. insider dealing
Et in arcadia. arcadia ego
Backhanders and salamanders
A powerhouse that is morally
Mechula
I'm sorry democracy is changing
I'm sorry democracy is changing
I'm not a slogan or a badge
Or a cross in the ballot box
Neither values or objectives
You do not represent my deepest
Thoughts and wishes
Education in obsolete skills
Stereotyping and media projection
Industrial psychologists
Plan a campaign that is financed by
Big business
You have a choice, we are your voice
Red, blue or yellow.
We will blow away the green
Another five lane motorway
(You'll never get a referendum anyway)
Today is that special day and the first music that came to my mind is this Rolling Stones "Mother's Little Helper". I wonder why I reminded this song. Maybe because it's a working tired Monday on the special day or maybe because somehow I have Peter Pan inside me. Or maybe this was one of my favourite songs from Rolling Stones. What a drag is getting old in fact....but has its advantages and there are things on the lyrics which I subscribe from today life's (not the mother thing).
What a drag it is getting old Kids are different today, I hear evry mother say Mother needs something today to calm her down And though shes not really ill Theres a little yellow pill She goes running for the shelter of a mothers little helper And it helps her on her way, gets her through her busy day Things are different today, I hear evry mother say Cooking fresh food for a husbands just a drag So she buys an instant cake and she burns her frozen steak And goes running for the shelter of a mothers little helper And two help her on her way, get her through her busy day
Doctor please, some more of these Outside the door, she took four more What a drag it is getting old
Men just arent the same today I hear evry mother say They just dont appreciate that you get tired Theyre so hard to satisfy, you can tranquilize your mind So go running for the shelter of a mothers little helper And four help you through the night, help to minimize your plight
Doctor please, some more of these Outside the door, she took four more What a drag it is getting old
Lifes just much too hard today, I hear evry mother say The pusuit of happiness just seems a bore And if you take more of those, you will get an overdose No more running for the shelter of a mothers little helper They just helped you on your way, through your busy dying day
Recently I saw the "Into the Wild" movie recommended by a friend of mine. This film touched my heart as it touched hers. Into the Wild is adapted from a book by Jon Krakauer in 1996 and tells the true story of Christopher McCandless, a young man that refused to live it's life according to the standard patterns and the materialist american society. After graduating on the Emory University in 1990 he decided to travel into the country looking for a contemplative solitude giving away is saving account to charity institutions. If you're interested in this real story you can read more on wikipedia. I know this is not new but what I would like to add is about the OST. It's from Eddie Vedder (ex-Perl Jam) which I find amazing. The harmony between the involved relations film/music/charcter/etc is perfect. As everyone knows Eddie Vedder is from Seattle. I have been there recently and I can tell that the nature around this beautiful city is breathless, surrounded by snow mountains and lots of water. No one could do a better work than Eddie since his nature is the wild, the folck, the country and Neil Young. This album completes perfectly the subject and the picture of this movie. The harmony of nature!
Some years ago, more precisely in 2002, I started some series of thematic playlists which I sometimes offered to friends as gifts. Sounds like a kids thing but I had lots of fun doing them and the feedback was always positive. I decided to publish them as podcasts from now on here on out of control. As soon as I finish rearrange them I will be posting. It will take some time because the software I use requires playlists to be upgraded. These playlists are old but I think you will enjoy them anyway. I may post new ones as soon as I finished converting the old ones.
For start the "Electro Pop & Company" podcast, inspired on the famous DJ Kitten nights on Triplex Bar in 2003. These were hot nights with lots of fun and electric pop music leading the crazy, drunk and happy environment of the bar. These nights became mornings also for most of the people. So this podcast is inspired on the DJ Kitten Saturday nights and the raise of the Electro Pop and Mixed Pop tunes of that time plus personal inspiration.
